Four On The Floor

TAMPA, Fla. - The Final Four is set to get underway with the Huskies of Connecticut, the one seed in the Greensboro Regional, taking on two-seeded Stanford out of Spokane.

The national anthem has been played and the Cardinal are on the court warming up with some layup drills.

And here comes the Huskies, with their little corner of the arena - their designated cheering section - erupting as they form layup lines of their own.

Tonight's first matchup should prove a good one. Vegas thinks the Huskies should be about a nine-point favorite. What do I think?

Take the Cardinal.

If I had to pick the winner, and I usually do, I would say it will be the Huskies advancing to Tuesday's final. I just don't think they will run away with it. Not with Candice Wiggins on the floor for Stanford.

Wiggins, this year's surprise Wade Trophy winner, is the heart and soul of the Cardinal and she won't let her teammates down. After two 40-point performances in the tournament already, including in the Elite Eight against top-seeded Maryland, Stanford will need another great performance tonight.

It might take another 40 points if Stanford hopes to make their first national final in some time. The Cardinal fans are certainly happy to have their team back in the Final Four. They have gone cross country and have shown up in impressive numbers.

The time clock is winding down and the game is about to begin.
