MAC: Parity in the MAC

By - July 31, 2006

Each coach just had the opportunity to speak in front of the luncheon and it seemed just about all of them discussed the parity of this league.

During the interview session, the parity was evident to new Temple head coach Al Golden, whose Owls officially begin play in the MAC in 2007 "Just here today you're hearing arguments as to who the division winners will be. That in itself leads you to believe there will be great competition. A lot of teams will be vying for the MAC title and we're thrilled to be a part of it."

And just looking at the media preseason poll will give you an idea of how much parity there is in this league. With twelve teams n the league this year, seven squads received first-place votes. Meanwhile, five different schools received votes to win the confence championship game. Now if that's not parity, then I don't know what is.
