Pac-10: Good Morning from L.A.

By Jason Owens - July 27, 2006

The ball just got rolling at Pac-10 media day in Los Angeles and the first bit of news has been released. To nobody's surprise, USC is once again the media favorite to win the conference title. But sans Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart, the Trojans aren't the clear favorites they once were. Here's how the voting broke down:

1. USC (18) 276
2. California (7) 247
3. Oregon (3) 229
4. Arizona State (1) 204
5. UCLA 145
6. Arizona 133
7. Oregon State 125
8. Washington State 96
9. Stanford 90
10. Washington 50

Washington coach Tyrone Willingham is up first at the podium and probably isn't too happy about being picked last. He's certainly not happy about having the first speaking slot today.

"One of the major goals for next season is not to have the 9:30 slot at this meeting next year," Willingham said as media members continued to trickle in during his statement.
