SEC: Rule Changes

By - July 27, 2006

In his address to the media, SEC Coordinator of Football Officials Rogers Redding went over some of the rule changes taking effect this upcoming season.

One rule change will be that the clock will start when the ball is kicked off, rather than in the past when the clock wouldn't start until the ball was touched. Redding also talked about the coaches challenge saying, "I'm very supportive of it. I think it is an opportunity for the officiating staff to get it right."
