Big Ten: A Full House

By - August 02, 2006

The Big Ten Kickoff Luncheon is now underway. The autograph session and group photo session ended a short while ago before a sellout crowd of fans who have shown up today to attend the Big Ten's kickoff festivities.

Fans had the opportunity to get autographs and take pictures with the players and coaches in what proved to be in my mind a very nice way for the Big Ten to interact with its fans. Each team had a table set up where the players and coaches were signed autographs and free souveiners were handed out to the fans. Each team's mascot was here as well. Some of the lines were long to get up to the players and coaches for autographs, - the Ohio State and Penn State lines seemed to be the longest - but I'm sure the fans would tell you it was well worth the wait.

This was definitely a good event from the Big Ten. Seeing little kids with a smile on their face as they get an autograph or picture with one of the players ior coaches is something that brings a smile to your own face, and I saw this throughout the event.
