C-USA: Coach Scelfo

By Adam Caparell - August 01, 2006

Just had a nice chat with Tulane coach Chris Scelfo about a number of different topics. Great guy, was a very good interview. Answered all my questions. But the biggest thing I took away from talking with him was his resolve.

We obviously talked extensively about Hurricane Katrina and the effects it had on the city, on the school, on the university, on the players, coaches and himself. But what I took away from Scelfo was the confidence and reassurance that things - while certainly aren't what they used to be - will only get better and improve - like his football team - as time passes by. The university is pretty much back up and in good shape, and while his team may not be picked to win it all in the conference, Scelfo is sure you're going to see continued improvement from a team that lost a lot from last season, in so many different ways.
