Fantasy Letdown

By Adam Caparell - September 04, 2006's fantasy football team took it on the chin in week 1, falling to's squad thanks to big games out ot Troy Smith, Yvenson Bernard and BenJarvus Green-Ellis. Final score, 122.65, 105.5. A very disappointing way to open the year.

But you can put the loss on me. I foolishly didn't give my roster a final check before Saturday and left Texas Tech WR Jarrett Hicks among my starters. Hicks has not been cleared to play by the NCAA following a look into his academic eligibility and therefore didn't play in Tech's opening win against SMU. If he gets cleared to play, HIcks is going to wrack up a ton of points for But getting no points from that third wide receiver position was killer this week and a poor job on my end not to notice it in time.

Then again, Brady Quinn's lackluster performance against Georgia Tech didn't help me out much either.
