RIP Auburn's Defense

By Adam Caparell - October 14, 2006

Can we officially say that Auburn has been exposed? Florida is doing a number on the Tigers defense, running through Auburn because the Tigers have missed tackle after tackle. Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville says his defense is confused. I guess it thinks its good or something.

Florida’s defense, despite giving up nine points, is showing it’s athleticism, getting to Brandon Cox and creating havoc in the pocket for the Tigers QB. Athletic defenses usually fair pretty well when it’s all said and done. And I think Florida has about as athletic a defense as there is in the nation.

- USC is off to an early lead so far against Arizona State. John David Booty has thrown for two touchdowns and the Trojans have 10 first downs against that mighthy Sun Devil defense. Yeah, right. I really think the Trojans are going to break out in this one. They have the second half left to really put it on the Sun Devils. I’m really interested to see them just go out and dominate for the first time since the Arkansas game.

- Looks like Chad Henne isn’t missing a beat without Mario Manningham. He’s distributing the ball to his other receivers and already has a TD and over 120 yards in the air.

Good drive by Anthony Morelli before halftime to bring Penn State back into the game and getting the Nittany Lions some points, showing some poise against a tough, tough Michigan defense and not making a stupid mistake. But if Penn State wants to win this game you can’t let opportunities pass you by and not scoring a TD before halftime, just yards outside the end zone, won’t help in the long run.
