NFL Draft: Day 2 Is Off

By Adam Caparell - April 29, 2007

NEW YORK - Round 4 of the 2007 NFL Draft is officially underway. The league wraps up its draft with four rounds this afternoon that hopefully will last a hell of lot quicker than yesterday's marathon of a first day. Rounds 1 and 2 took an agonizing nine hours to finish up.

The second day of the draft if when teams dig up those diamonds in the rough. Is the next Tom Brady - a sixth round pick of the Patriots - out there for the taking? Who knows. We should see some big names come off the board. Troy Smith and Antonio Pittman are still available. So is Chris Leak. We've had yet to see a kicker come off the board and Mason Crosby, who has been documenting his draft travails exculsively on CSTV.com, was disappointed he didn't get picked Saturday.

But there are sure to be a few surprises over the course of the day, a few unexpected picks, and there will also be some major disappointments for those who don't get selected and will be forced to pursue their NFL dreams via free agency. We have about seven hours to go and at pick No. 100, Oakland is on the clock and ready to kick things off. Get comfortable because it's going to be another long day.
