Bulldogs No Longer Blue

It's been just about two weeks since the pairings for the BCS bowls were announced and the sting that Georgia felt, having been left out of the BCS Championship game, is long gone.

"All the lingering disappointment is over with," Bulldogs SS Keiland Williams said. "What's done is done. We can't change what is already done."

What's done is Georgia will be facing WAC Champ Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl where the Bulldogs get to face Colt Brennan and the highest scoring offense in the country rather than Ohio State for the national title. Despite the best efforts of Georgia coach Mark Richt to campaign for voters to cast their ballots in the Bulldogs favor, he's fine with the fact they came up short of their ultimate goal.

"We're definitely over it, I can promise you," Richt said. "The teams that get to play for the national championship have to win a beauty contest and sometimes you have to do the best you can to filibust for your team. And that's what I did because the goal is to try and win the national championship and if that goal is still out there we're going to fight for it.

"Once we lost the fight we realized where we were and moved on. And for us to have the opportunity to play Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl is a thrill for us."

Georgia will take on Colt Brennan and a Warrior team averaging 46-plus points per game Jan. 1 in New Orleans any questions about the Bulldogs motivation heading into the game Richt definitively answered Friday.

"When you watch film of your opponent and they're as good as Hawaii is, it doesn't take long for guys to get excited by that," Richt said.

Georgia's an eight point favorite heading into the game. Vegas seems to think it's going to be an exciting one considering it has the O/U at 69.5, the fourth highest of the 32 bowl games.
