DeAndre Makes It Official

By Adam Caparell - February 06, 2008

DeAndre Brown, Tom Lemming's No. 17 recruit for the Class of 2009, made his decision official today. The Ocean Spring, Miss. native decided to stay in-state - as most everyone figured - and play at Southern Miss for new coach Larry Fedora.

Here's Tom's analysis on Brown:

"He is a big, physical receiver who goes up and gets the ball no matter where it is thrown. He has great speed for a big guy, sure and strong hands and a lot of confidence. He is not yet a great route runner, but that will come with practice. He plays on a run oriented team but has Calvin Johnson type of ability. Believe me, he is an impact player, and barring injury, he will be playing ball on Sundays." National Signing Day Coverage
