Jones To Alabama

Wide out Julio Jones, Tom Lemming's No. 3 player in the Class of 2008, is going to Alabama, he officially announced only a few minutes ago.

"Great catch, the biggest catch in years for Alabama," Lemming said. "The biggest catch for Alabama in all the years I've been doing this.

"The first thing that you notice is his ability to get off the line, outmuscle the pressman, catch the ball with his hands and his great separation speed. It is rare to find a big guy with such good overall athletic ability," Lemming said. "He shows very good shiftiness and explosiveness and can make the tough catch over the middle. He shows the kind of top-end speed that scares the defense to death. You could make a good argument that Julio is the No. 1 prospect in the nation. He shows outstanding body control for his size, great running instincts and is very difficult to matchup with because of his height, strength and leaping ability.

"He'll be playing right away. If he's not, then they must have some hidden guy we don't know about."

Jones commitment to Alabama could have potentially positioned the Crimson Tide as the holders of the nation's No. 1 class. They're neck and neck with Notre Dame right now, but Jones is going to heavily sway Lemming's opinion at the end of the day.

"I might have to move Alabama to No. 1," Lemming said. "It's so close." National Signing Day Coverage
