Scott To Colorado Sounds Right

By Adam Caparell - February 06, 2008

The nation's No. 2 recruit, running back Darrell Scott, was thought to be headed to Texas but word has it that the California native could be going to Colorado instead. At least that's what Tom Lemming is hearing.

Scott, who ran for 2,443 yards and 33 touchdowns his senior season, has openly talked about playing with his uncle, Buffalos wide out Josh Smith. And from what Lemming knows, that could become a reality early this afternoon (12:50 pm ET) when Scott annouces his decision to the nation.

Here's Tom's analysis on Scott:

"A powerful runner who is quick with all-the-way kind of speed, he makes quick cuts, shows the kind of speed, strength and burst needed to turn the corner on a consistent basis. He knows how to lower his shoulder to ram for extra yards and also has the vision, balance, cutting ability and, most of all, burst to take it to the house often. It is not a great year for RB prospects nationally, but Darrell would rank right near the top in just about any year. Thickly built, he can plant and drive quickly, showing a brilliant initial burst and then great straight line speed." National Signing Day Coverage
