Pryor Speaks, No Decision

By Adam Caparell - February 06, 2008

The nation's No. 1 recruit, Terrelle Pryor, just got done telling the world why he has yet to officially decide on his college of choice. And for those of you looking to place any blame on why he hasn't made up his mind, look no further than basketball.

"I'm delaying because, no one really knows, but since I finished playing football, right from there, like two days later I jumped right into basketball and I really haven't had much time to get involved in the recruiting process," Pryor said. "I'd like to just take some time and be fair to all the coaches that are recruiting me. I'd like to give everyone the same time."

Maybe the biggest news to come out of Pryor's announcement was that he has not ruled out Oregon as a potential landing spot and that he mentioned Penn State more than any other school. It was believed that Pryor had whittled his choices down to Penn State, Michigan and Ohio State, but he laid out his four schools of choice clearly and concisely for everyone to hear. That's good news for Michigan, Penn State and Oregon, but not the greatest for Ohio State, the school many thought Pryor was heavily leaning toward.

"What I took away was that he was going to committ, sign with Ohio State today," Tom Lemming said. "That was the school in his mind, but his dad at least wants hom to look at Penn State. His dad wants him at Penn State and I think it's going to be a tug of war between Ohio State and Penn State."

That's bad news for Michigan and new coach Rich Rodriguez. And even though Pryor may have said he's still considering heading to Oregon, but Lemming's not buying it.

"I'd be shocked if he goes to Oregon," Lemming said. National Signing Day Coverage
