A10-GW creeping back

By Jacob Schwartzstein - May 26, 2006

After going down 5-0 through the first five innings, GW put up a run in the sixth and added another in the seventh.

GW scored their first run on two singles and a fielders choice groundout and got their next one on a walk, two stolen bases by shortstop Michael Parker, and a sacrifice fly from third baseman Tom Shanley.

Around the fifth inning, a group of four GW fans sat down behind home plate and began their own cheerleading section, chanting the names of every Colonial who steps to the plate and pounding the metal bleachers with their feet. I'm told they're Parker's family. Maybe as a reaction to these guys, the Rhode Island fans seem to be getting louder as the game goes on, as well.

Heading into the top of the eighth inning, the Rams made a pitching change, putting righty Brett Palanski in.

Rams 5, Colonials 2

By the way, some BBQ chicken just arrived. Should be splendiferous.
