A10-St. Louis rallies

By Jacob Schwartzstein - May 26, 2006

I should have known my last entry would jinx the pitchers duel. Things went completely south for St. Bonaventure in the bottom of the fourth inning.

A few singles, a few walks, a couple of errors by St. Bonaventure third baseman Matt Agostinelli, and two huge doubles to left-centerfield from St. Louis' B.J. Rodrigue and Greg Rodgers have led to eight runs for the Billikens. The St. Louis crowd was on their feet for most of the rally, and unfortunately for the rest of us here, one of them brought one of those annoying mini fog horn things. At least there were no cowbells or thundersticks.

The way these St. Louis pitchers have been throwing these past few days, it's looking like St. Bonaventure is going to have to play in tonight's game against the winner of the 3:30 game.

Right-hander Ryan Kerr has come into pitch for St. Bonaventure in the bottom of the fifth inning, though the score is still 8-0 in favor of St. Louis.

Weather update: It's gotten a little cooler here in the past two innings and the sky has darkened. According to weather.com there is some rain in New Jersey that may make its way over here in about an hour.
