ACC: Made it. Now... let's assess the damage
By Eric Sorenson - May 25, 2006
After traveling all day from the left coast, I made it out to Jacksonville late last night and , after a "short nap", I look forward to getting out to the stadium today.
You telling me that North Carolina lost with Andrew Miller on the mound? Holy tall lefty batman! UNC will play Florida State in the first elimination game this morning. But to tell you the truth, I shouldn't be too stunned by anything out here, all eight teams are good and SOMEBODY has to lose two and go home. I won't be shocked if it's the Noles. I have my doubts about them. But we'll see.
Man, I'm used to waking up during conference tournament time and reading about the first games of the day already being completed. Now, out here on the right coast, I'm going to BE at those early games. I may need some no-doz to keep me going today. And no, not 'coz the games will be snoozers either. I'm expecting some exciting baseball.
More later.

Clemson vs. Georgia Tech will be the best game today. Tech won the series 2 games to 1, and their victories weren't even close ones against Clemson. However, Clemson is playing better than any other team in nation, and you can count on them winning not only this game but the whole tournament.

Georgia Tech will loose to Clemson today in what seems to be the best one in the ACC tournament today. Clemson is playing about as good as any team can and easliy they are the best team in country right now. Also, they will want to revenge those two blow-out victories Tech had against them earlier in the year at Tech.

That may be the best game, but I think the Virginia/NC State game will be interesting, as NC State swept UVa in the regular season, but UVa didn't loose an ACC series after that. We'll see.
