ACC: Stadium? It's nice. The Press Box? Not so much

By Eric Sorenson - May 25, 2006

I really hate press boxes. Always have. And this one isn't exactly near the top either.

made my way to the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. Great looking stadium. This place is nice! All stadium seats, lots of good sightlines and lots of shade to escape the climbing heat. But it wasn't good to hear stuff like "... and who are you with again?" from the will call window. "...um, you'll have to call the ACC office to get your media credential."

Thankfully, Jason, the ACC media boss got things straightened out in short order.

Must tell you guys though, this press box is pretty awful. The media is squished into a tiny room where, if you're sitting near either wall, you can't see the entire field. And if you're sitting where I am on the second level in the media box, you have to crouch forward to see home plate. It's also fully enclosed, which is good for A/C, bad for feeling like your a part of the game.

Needless to say, I'll be spending as little time as possible up here. Then again, with those 90+ temps on the way...

Oh also, the "FSU Cowgirl" is here. Yes, the girls that wear next to nothing and what clothes they DO wear are tight and form-fitting. Maybe I'll snap a pic with her. She's also been the talk of the press box so far.

Oh yeah, and NC is up 3-1 now, with Chad Flack hitting a solo home run and an RBI single. Starter Robert Woodard is doing a pretty good job, giving up just a solo home run and a single through four.
