ACC: Tech-Miami are tight... and testy

By Eric Sorenson - May 26, 2006

Inning 3:
Tech's Wieters gets plunked and does the stare-down on Miami's Danny Gil. Umpires rush in to break up the heated exchange.

Inning 4:
Mike Trapani rounds second on a hit to the wall and runs into Cane 2nd baseman Jemile Weeks. Lots of hollering from the Tech coaches and fans, but he ends up scoring anyway.

Inning 5:
Wieters facing Gil again, gets brushed back on second pitch. The crowd howls. But Wieters then hits into a harmless groundout.

Going into the bottom of the sixth, it's Tech 5, Miami 4. I'm just waiting for Miami's Chris Perez to come in late in the game and drill somebody in the back, starting a donnybrook.

I'll keep you posted.
