ACC: Weather again

As Aerosmith sings, "When Lightining Strikes"
It's not nice to fool with mother nature.
No sooner had a written the weather update a blog ago, a giant lightning strike somewhere beyond center field brought the NC State-UVa game to a screeching halt. A hard rain then pelted the Grounds and the field crew scurried to cover the field.
As we sit right now, Virginia is at bat in the 8th inning with two outs and down 4-2.
Luckily this park was well-built for situations like this as there is plenty of area under the overhang and in the concessions areas around the field. Of course, the p.a. then blared out CCR's "Who'll Stop the Rain?" (Really funny guys.)
But I've got to pity the poor people across the street. See, at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Coliseum they were holding high school graduations, so there were hundreds of people - well-dressed at that - that were waiting outside the arena and were getting drenched by the sudden downpour. So women removed their heels and began to make haste for their cars. Most guys just lolly-gagged through the rain, not caring if their clothes got wet.
Of course, this also means that tonight's games are going to probably get pushed well past midnight. Ugh! The only thing worse than 90+ temps are numerous rain delays on a four-game day.
Okay, that's it for now.
more later

We've got ominous clouds on the southern skyline here in Hoover, pal, hoping to avoid the same fate. Can't you keep that weather in Florida where it belongs!?
