Big 12: OU Mercy-Rules OSU, 21-6
By Glenn Tanner - May 27, 2006
OU rebounded from yesterday’s 11-0 run-rule loss to Missouri in the best way imaginable -- a 21-6 run-rule victory over hated rival Oklahoma State.
OSU had shut out the Sooners in their last two meetings, but today Oklahoma set a Big 12 Tournament record for most runs in a game. It was batting practice for the Sooners with 18 hits in the 7 innings. Chuckie Caufield had 4 hits and scored 4 times, Ryan Rohlinger also crossed the plate 4 times and drove in 4, and Russell Raley and Kevin Smith contributed 3 hits apiece.
Chuck Kelly is a happy man.
Next up is the game to decide the other championship game participant. Neither Kansas (#6-seed) nor Missouri (#7-seed) were expected to be playing tomorrow by most people, and neither has had much crowd support during their first two games, so attendance might be pretty sparse, especially since most OSU fans left in the top of the 6th.
The game should start a few minutes before 9pm.

Cowboys blew a chance to host a regional with their performance this weekend. They laid a major egg.
