Big East: Irish get lucky

Notre Dame has come back to tie the ballgame in the bottom of the 6th at 2-2.
To make matters better, they have the bases loaded.
But enough of the game action...
As you may know, the park that this tournament is being played in is Bright House Networks Field. It is home to the Philadelphia Phillies spring training camp as well as the Threshers, a single-A minor league team. The mascot for the Threshers is a shark. Apparently, a thresher is a species of shark that calls the waters of the Gulf of Mexico home.
On Tuesday, I (being from the midwest, Springfield, Missouri) asked a senior staffer at the ballpark, "why do you spell it with an "e" and not an "a"?" You see, where I come from, a "thrasher" is a large piece of farm equiptment that separates seeds from husks of crops. Here, it is a shark. I had no idea. What made it even funnier is that the staffer that I was talking to had no idea what a "thrasher" was, only knew a "thresher." So the whole time we thought the other was crazy.
