Big East: Louisville coming up huge

By Barry Loudis - May 24, 2006

Louisville's Jorge Castillo hits a huge one into the right field corner driving in three runs and the Cardinals take the lead over Connecticut 8-5 in the top of the sixth. To add insult to injury, the Huskie pitcher, Joshua MacDonald beaned two batters in a row.

Now the story does not get much worse than that. MacDonald retired the next batter and the Cardinal rally was over. This is a perfect example of how instantly momentum and emotion can change the way the game is played. Louisville certainly has their fans support right now. I am happy to report that "Mrs. #5" is back for the game tonight, but without the home-decorated tank top. This is an evening game after all...

The Cardinals are taking control of the game at this point. Many of their players jump over the fence of the dugout after the third out is completed to get themselves psyched up for the next inning.
