Big East: Louisville sluggers

By Barry Loudis - May 26, 2006

The Cardinals beat Rutgers 13-3 this late morning/early afternoon here at the Big East Championships and the crowd goes wild.

They do love their "C-A-R-D-S!" here at the ball park and rightfully so. After dismantling the Scarlet Knights, they will be playing in the championship game of the Big East Tournament tomorrow at 1 p.m..

Some thoughts on the win:

Do the Cardinals have what it takes to beat Notre Dame tomorrow (assuming the the Irish are victorious over St. John's)?

What will Wade Boggs think of the 5'3" short stop? He is calling the game for television tomorrow in his first analyst gig with play-by-play guy Dave Armstrong.

Will there be more than 500 in attendance at the game? I am not sure that the crowds have been what organizers expected so far. If you are in the area, you should come out. The park is quite nice and they DO have a bar in left field (been there, done that).

Most importantly, will the famous Louisville fan club be here to cheer on their Cardinals???
