Big East: The fans are here, the fans are here

By Barry Loudis - May 27, 2006

Things tend to come full circle in this world and the Big East Baseball Championship is not exception. The infamous "Mrs. #5" AND, yes AND, the Cincinnati Superfan are here at the game today. What a pleasant development.

Naturally I knew that good-ol home made white tank top would be here today, she is the future wife of a Louisville Cardinal, I assume. But I again have to hand it to the Cincinnati fan who has turned into a crowd favorite. His team was out DAYS ago. He still has his trademark moves during the half-inning breaks and he has even become somewhat of a fixture on the stadiums video board. I love the guy for sticking it out and being a fan here in the stadium when Busch Gardens is no more that 30 minutes away. That is dedication.

Anywhere in the shade seems to be the most popular seating section today. The sun is hot and has folks scrambling for space in the shadow if the building structure.

Wade Boggs is calling the game for television in the booth next to where I am blogging from today. I asked him if we wanted to go out for a beer but said he only did that on flights between the east and west coasts. (insert rimshot here)

Notre dame currently leads 4-0 in the top of the 5th.
