Hmmm...Pepperdine over Oklahoma State? I know OSU went 0-3 in their Big XII tourney, but they deserved the bid over Pepperdine. They also went 2-1 vs Nebraska and 3-1 vs OU.

Call me bias because I'm a Michigan student. But shouldn't regional sites be determined after the conference tournaments are finished? I think the Maize and Blue made a strong case to earn a regional bid by losing only two games in their last thirteen (including a win over Notre Dame and their football/baseball pitcher). They also won the Big Ten regular season title and conference tournament title in the process.
The midwestern schools should be given more love than this. Not even Notre Dame received a bid for winning its fifth straight Big East title. The NCAA should really look into fixing this system a bit.
But I'm still excited for the tourney and that Michigan will be in it for the second year in a row.

The biggest reach among those hosts is Kentucky. The NCAA does need regional sites in the west, hence Pepperdine. But Kentucky has a #22 RPI and they're the 5th SEC team to get a regional. That's a reach where the committee didn't need to reach.

When are the top 8 seeds known?

Do facilities at each school play any part in the selection process? Also, after reading how well Michigan did this year, I believe they were snubbed as well.

National seeds will be announced when brackets are released at 11:30 (Central) tomorrow morning.

OSU didn't get to host simply because of the way they played to end the season. they got BEAT DOWN by OU yesterday. how can you say you deserve to host over a team that put up more than 20 runs on you? Nebraska is a good host, though. They always have good fans. Looks like they're going to lose to KU, though.

Who is kidding who? 8 teams from the South, 3 Miss/Texas,
and only 3 from the West.
Hope they do a more even selection for the super regionals.Wake up NCAA.

When it comes down to it, you can't really say that Michigan was snubbed. No team in the Big 10 was ranked in the Top 25 all season, and that says something against the RPI of the Wolverines. They lost 16-0 to Baylor early in the season, and they only played one Top 25 team all season long. That team was a pretty decent Notre Dame team (considering their SoS was just about as bad as Michigan's). They didn't get snubbed by the NCAA. They got snubbed by their schedule.

Three hosts from the west seems more than fair to me. Remember that this is only the hosts, and not the overall bracket. Three of sixteen hosts is pretty consistent with the 20% of the tournament teams that will come from the west.
The midwest/northeast has a bigger gripe, but noone from those areas really stepped up this season. Notre Dame has a great record, but hasn't beaten a top 50 RPI team all season and struggled somewhat down the stretch. In that region I prefer Michigan, but they also had a fairly soft schedule (and the aforementioned point that they hadn't wrapped up the title as of when host slots were announced). The process is still better than pre-1999, when hosts were selected a week before the end of the season.
We'll see how the uniform start date in two years affects the representation from the upper tier of the country.

Ok, so Nebraska came back from a 9-2 lead before falling 9-7 to the Kansas Jayhawks. I love the Big 12. I can't help it. It is obviously the best conference in the country. KU should get a 2 seed in their regional, and they might advance to the supers (if they're lucky). but the Huskers played well at the end of the game. it appears their late-season woes are over. Great way to finish the Big 12.

Pretty fair as far as I can tell. I have followed college baseball for years and think they did a great job. I am from the South and am glad of all the sites. Great teams down here, glad to see that LS Who was left out finally. Make them earn it this year.

Ok, the SoS arguments against Michigan are solid and I understand where people are coming from. But hear me out. I will do my best to try and convince people that Michigan should've been given a chance to host a regional.
With the exception of the Baylor bushwacking, UM's losses weren't that bad (but 9-4, and 13-7 losses to South Alabama and Louisiana Tech are ugly, I do realize this). So in my opinion they only had three really bad losses.
But they managed to have a servicible non-conference record despite losing their top three hitters and four best pitchers AND not having a chance to practice outside before traveling south.
Now, Michigan's SoS during the conference season wasn't the greatest, but that's a product of the Midwestern team's not being that good. By denying Michigan to host a regional, you're penalizing them for doing exactly what it should against inferior competition: win.
If the facilities play a part into regional hosting than yes, Michigan's facilities are terrible. But to deny a team who won both the regular season title and conference tournament from hosting a regional because of something they can't control? That's kind of lame. Hey, it's not like its snowing here at this time of year!
But I'm not bitter at the NCAA. Like I said earlier, I'm just glad Michigan made it for a second year in a row. Maloney is becoming one of the best college baseball coaches in the Midwest and arguably one of the better young ones in the country.

This seems fair to me. Attendance plays a roll in who gets regionals. Kentucky has badd attendance, but they are also co-champions of the SEC, the toughest conference in the country. They play 20+ games against ranked opponents just in conference games, same for every SEC team. Attendance is also much higher in the south overall, especially at Arkansas, which may well draw the largest crowds of any team hosting. If you say you can't rank so many teams in a conference because they play each other, the SEC always produces in the post-season. Two years ago, people were outraged that 9 SEC teams got in the NCAA field. Nearly all of them advanced to super regionals and 4 of them were in the 8 team CWS. The NCAA actually wanted more sites in the north, but no teams deserved it more than the southern ones, and most importantly to the NCAA, no northern teams turn out crowds like the southern teams do consistently. In other words, southern teams mean more money. Better baseball is played in the south in my opinion anyway though.

How in the world did Mississippi State get in the tournament? Must have been the chairman of the committee was their AD, huh! No way they deserved a spot. NCAA bs is all!
