SEC: Nine And Counting...
By Jessica Garrison - May 25, 2006
This is getting ridiculous. Top of the ninth, and the Wildcats are on pitcher number eight. Yes, number eight. Right hander Chris Rusin has been dragged to the mound in what is quickly beginning to look like a no-win situation. Wait! No! Cohen's back on the mound, and yes...yes...now pitching for Kentucky, Adam Tennyson, the ninth pitcher for Kentucky this game.
Someone nearby just made the crack that Kentucky coach John Cohen is trying to get the pitchers a little exercise, since it looks like they won't be playing for at least another week. I doubt Cohen or anyone else down there is laughing. 13-7 will do that to ya...
The 20 hits that the Bulldogs already have is the most in the SEC tournament since Arkansas had 21 against Mississippi State in 1998. I'm bettin' they'll do the Razorbacks a few better...whoops, look at that, make it 21 hits and couting for Georgia. This is wild.
On the bright side, for the first time in my life, after hundreds of thousands of spins, I am finally hearing "Sweet Home Alabama" in the state of Alabama. I'm actually having a moment here...
