Athens: Tied at 2 after Smoak's RBI double

By - June 12, 2006

Where there is smoke, there's fire. Actually, where there's Smoak, there's fire. The red hot Justin Smoak doubled down the left field line, sending it bouncing against the Foley Field wall and allowing Chris Brown to score from second to tie this game at 2.

Perno has just walked to the mound to talk to his freshman pitcher. Carolina has found their offense in a hurry, and the Gamecock fans are getting louder, knowing their team has found new life in this game. It's just what we expected though from these two teams in this game...back-and-forth action, intensity at its highest, baseball at its absolute best.
