Athens: WOOF! Wild Pitch gives UGA lead

By - June 12, 2006

Wynn Pelzer's dead tired. After managing to get 2 pop ups, and with runners at the corners, Pelzer threw to Josh Morris with all the energy he had. The result? A wild pitch, and Matthew Dunn flying home safely to give the lead back to Georgia at 4-3.

You just saw this one coming. As said before, Pelzer just didn't have his stuff anymore. He kept walking batters, and just could never find the strike zone. Now, his erratic pitching has cost Carolina the lead. Ray Tanner's going to have to replace him on the mound, despite the lack of depth from the Gamecock pen. Pelzer's just out of gas.

RIp Warren is in for UGA, brought in to keep the Gamecocks at bay while the momentum rests squarely on the shoulders of Georgia.
