Atlanta: Boom shaka laka

By Craig Jackson - June 09, 2006

Seems the Tech hitters like to run around a well maniaucred infield.

Top of the fifth, the Tech groundcrew, in what is becoming commonplace in baseball now, came out and redrug the infield, changed the bases to pristine white ones, checked the foul lines around the bag for any touch ups, and then the game resumes. On top of that, the Jackets bench had their mojo working. After Matt Wieters took a ball halfway to the Varsity, the fans behind the Tech dugout started dancing again. It is a choreographed routine, that includes prancing about and gymnastics by the Tech bench. Like the Bear Dance of Jimmy Buffett lore, description eludes me.

Then when the Cougars thought they were out of the woods, the Tech bench went to work with their mojo. They went through more contortions and movements than bumper cars at an amusement park. Didn't help though. Kindel struck out looking, and the Cougars are still in the game, trailing only 2-0 after 5 and a half.
