Atlanta: Contrast in styles

By Chris Lee - June 04, 2006

It's interesting to watch the contrasting offensive philosophies of Vanderbilt and Georgia Tech. The free-swinging Commodores believe that the first pitch they'll see is often the best, and go up hacking. This has paid off for Vandy a lot of the year, but tonight, it's done nothing for them as the 'Dores have just one baserunner and no runs through four innings.

By contrast, Tech is watching a lot of pitches from Cody Crowell. The 'Jackets have but one run, but have made Vandy's Crowell, who looks sharp, throw 56 pitches through three.
