Atlanta: He says, I says

By Craig Jackson - June 10, 2006

Garabedian at bat for Charleston. 2 outs in the inning. First pitch in the dirt. Garabedian takes off to first.

But wait a minute. Garabedian is halfway down the line. Blue calls him back. Ball one, not hit by pitch. Pawloski comes out. A meeting is called by the umps. Now how the second base ump can see from his position in center field is beyond me. But the conclusion is ball in the dirt, come back to the plate and try again.

It turns out well for Garbedian. 3 pitches later he rips a single into left. Looks better in the books you know!

And as I write this, Lasater lines on into the crowd down the leftfield line. Only casualty is the snow cone, which on a day like today, is a massive casualty!!

By the way, lost in the excitement: Hyde makes it thru the inning for Tech.

3 in the books, Cougars still lead 2-1.
