Atlanta: What a day for a ballgame

By Craig Jackson - June 10, 2006

Five minutes to first pitch, and the fans are streaming in.

Welcoem to Game 2 of the Atlanta Super Regional. The teams are prepped and ready to play. Charleston is in their home whites today, and have taken the 3rd base dugout from Tech. Tech is in the first base dugout, wearing their gold tops and white pants. The Athem is over, the players are milling around, and we are about to play baseball.

For those of you who have never been to Russ Chandler, you are missing out on one of college baseball's more scenic facilities. located in the center of the Tech campus, if you look out over the right field area, you see tree lined streets and frat houses. And of course the guys sitting on the Techwood Wall cheap seats. As you look at leftfield, you see the Atlanta skyline, accentuated by several architectural marvels. Tech's football practice facility also sits behind left.

But enough of the travel guide. The meetings are over, the teams are ready to hit the field, so I will be back later.
