Chapel Hill: Cox Still Rocks!

By Bryan Graham - June 04, 2006

North Carolina's most efficient run-producing machine just keeps chugging along.

Leftfielder Jay Cox just popped his fourth home run of the weekend, upping his Chapel Hill regional-best RBI total to 11. The Smithfield, N.C., native is 7-for-12 (.583) on the weekend. His 21 total bases -- and stratospheric 1.750 slugging percentage -- are both regional pacesetters.

Carolina leads, 10-2, through six innings at Boshamer Stadium. Twelve outs sit between the Tar Heels and the program's first Super Regionals appearance since 2003.
