Chapel Hill: Endgame

By Bryan Graham - June 03, 2006

Andrew Miller hasn't tossed a complete game since his freshman year. And though the Tar Heels held a 14-4 lead in the ninth inning, that streak did not come to an end against the Eagles.

After surrendering a leadoff single to Bryn Henderson, Miller was pulled by coach Mike Fox in favor of righty Andrew Warren.

The freshman put down the Eagles in order to secure the first-ever NCAA Tournament win for Miller, the program's career strikeouts leader who will likely be a first-round selection -- if not the first overall pick -- in Tuesday's MLB First-Year Player Draft.

The Heels will face the winner of Sunday's UNCW-Winthrop elimination game at 5 p.m., when they will have an opportunity to advance to the Super Regionals for the first time since 2003.
