Charlottesville: Sound and Fury, Signifying Nothing

By Elliot Olshansky - June 02, 2006

The Lehigh second had a little bit of everything...except scoring.

The Mountain Hawks had some nice hits, a runner caught stealing, a successful steal, a wild pitch (on 3-2 following the aforementioned runner caught stealing, no less), a marginal hit/error call (it went for a hit, but I could have seen it as E-4), but through it all, Ballard stayed with it, and got his outs.

The Mountain Hawks have now had two baserunners caught stealing, but I like their attitude. They're playing like a team that has nothing to lose. They're pulling out all the stops, and while some of it has come back to bite them, they're in this game and they're being aggressive. Can't fault them for that.

The chili, by the way, is outstanding...I may report on the hot dogs later on, but rest assured, the chili is fantastic.
