Charlottesville: Number Five Alive

By Elliot Olshansky - June 02, 2006

And the Virginia run party continues...

It's only one run this time - a two-out single by Brandon Guyer that scored Sean Doolittle - but the Hawks still have not found a way to stop the Hoos, and it's really looking like they won't.

Again, mistakes hurt Lehigh, as Doolittle was moved to third on a balk by Davitt. Obviously, as Manhattan has already shown today, it's quite possible to beat the big boys, but one thing you can't do if you hope to accomplish that is beat yourself. The Hawks have made too many mistakes, and they're not supplying enough offense, either. Two runs are not going to beat Virginia. The mistakes are hurting, but the Hoos also have 12 hits through five innings, and if you're going to give up 12 hits, chances are that you're not going to be able to win with two runs.
