Charlottesville: So Much For That Theory

By Elliot Olshansky - June 03, 2006

The bullpen seems to be OK so far for the Gamecocks. Andrew Cruse strikes out two, and the Cavaliers go in order in the seventh.

Meanwhile, Alex Smith surrenders a run in the bottom of the seventh before being pulled, and it's looking very bleak for the real home team.

In comes Josh Meyers to try and stop the bleeding. If I told you that the team that only got two earned runs off of Evansville this morning would be lighting up Virginia - including the ACC Player of the Year, Sean Doolittle - I doubt you would have believed me, but that's what's going on here at Davenport Field.
