Fayetteville: Chorus of Boos

By - June 03, 2006

A controversial "batter interference" call has sent the fans at Baum into hysterics, and nearly sent Dave Van Horn to the showers in the first inning.

Interference was called on James Ewing on the hit and run call. Ewing struck out as Gentry slid into second. Gentry was safe by a mile, easily sliding in before the second baseman caught the ball. The batter interference call came seconds after Gentry stood on second and dusted himself off. The fans are booing the umpire every time he takes off his mask.

Princeton threatens in the bottom of the 1st but comes up empty, and we're scoreless after 1.
