Fayetteville: Odds and Ends

By - June 04, 2006

Here are some quick notes from tonight's OSU/ORU baseball game...

There are still a few Arkansas fans in the crowd, and occasionally a Hog call can still be heard in the crowd. I asked several Razorback fans tonight if they were pulling for either ORU or OSU. The results? Most say neither, as they are here to watch baseball and have no particular favorite. The rest though, are pulling for the Cowboys. Razorback fan Brittany Nottenkamper, 17, was decked out in black and orange for tonight's game, having changed for tonight's game to root on the Cowboys.

The All-Tournament Team ballots have been passed out to the media. Mine sits beside me right now, with 4 names penciled in. Should ORU be leading by the 8th inning, those ballots will be collected. If the Cowboys comeback to win this, we'll get fresh ballots tomorrow. I can tell you that OSU, ORU, and Arkansas players have made up the 4 that are on my ballot right now. Though I really like Princeton's pitchers, I just can't put any Tiger player down, as there have been too many clutch performances this weekend. I will say that my votes are going to players who were clutch when they needed to be, rather than go with who had the highest batting average or best ERA.

More to come from Fayetteville, with ORU up 3-0.
