Houston: Batters Turning Aggressive

By Jeremy Mills - June 11, 2006

Hitters on both teams are attacking the pitchers early in the count now. McCutchen faced five batters in the top of the third while throwing just eight pitches. In the bottom of the frame, Chuckie Caufield singled to left center on the first pitch before Russell Raley and Ryan Rohlinger both grounded out on a 1-1 count against Bobby Bell. Through three frams, McCutchen has thrown 36 pitches while Bell has gone home 49 times.

The crowd was late arriving for today's early start, but it's filled in nicely over the first three innings. The bleachers aren't as full as last night, but we should be looking at a crowd in the 4,500 range this afternoon.

Three innings complete, with Rice holding a 2-1 lead over Oklahoma.
