Houston: Owls Omaha Bound

By Jeremy Mills - June 12, 2006

Bryce Cox struck out the first two batters in the top of the ninth, then Russell Raley grounded back to the mound for the final out of the game. A Joe Savery fist pump and brief dogpile later, Rice had advanced to their fifth College World Series with a 9-5 victory over Oklahoma in Monday's winner-take-all battle.

Cole St. Clair improves to 6-2 with the victory, while Bryce Cox picks up his third save of the season on his final trip to the Reckling Park mound.

Rice will play the winner of this evening's South Carolina-Georgia game on Saturday in Omaha.

More details shortly...
