Houston: Savage on for Sooners

By Jeremy Mills - June 12, 2006

John Brownell threw eleven pitches without recording an out in the bottom of the sixth, so Oklahoma closer Will Savage (7-2, 5.01, 10 saves) has entered the game. Danny Lehmann singled to start off the inning, then Brownell's afternoon came to a close with a walk to Tyler Henley.

Brownell allowed 4 hits and 5 walks over 4 1/3 innings, allowing just one run during his outing (in addition to being responsible for the runners on base).

Rice batting with two on and no outs in the bottom of the sixth with Oklahoma leading 4-3.

What a nice homerun for Joe Savery. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy!! Hope Rice makes it to Omaha!!
