Houston: Settling Into a Groove

By Jeremy Mills - June 03, 2006

Arizona State went to the bullpen after the second and Prairie View followed suit in the fourth -- since then we've settled into the type groove you'd expect in a blowout. At the seventh inning stretch, Arizona State leads 11-2.

After allowing the first three batters to reach base, Adrian Canales has retired the last eleven Sun Devil hitters since entering the game in the fourth inning. Brady Martinez allowed Prairie View to score two runs in the fifth, and since then has held the Panthers off the board.

Prairie View fans finally had something to cheer about in the fifth, as two runs scored on a two-out error to put the Panthers on the board. The small crowd assembled behind the third base dugout burst into the "P-V-U" cheer for about a minute, and since that both sides of the crowd have been quiet as we draw toward 10:30 local time.
