Houston: Sooners Strike First

By Jeremy Mills - June 11, 2006

Ryan Rohlinger extended his hitting streak to 10 games with a two-out double to left and scored when Kevin Smith doubled down the rightfield line to give Oklahoma a 1-0 lead after one inning in Houston.

Bobby Bell labored through the first inning, throwing 24 pitches to the five batters he faced while throwing at least two balls to four Sooners.

After going to the bullpen early yesterday, OU coach Sonny Golloway needs an extended outing from his ace today. McCutchen obliged in the first, throwing just 13 pitches in the frame.
