Houston: Sooners Turn to Respond

By Jeremy Mills - June 11, 2006

Rice has been answering every Oklahoma run this weekend, and now the Sooners are returning the favor.

After the Owls plated three runs in the top of the fourth, Oklahoma has responded with a rally of their own in the bottom of the frame. Freddy Rodriguez led off the inning with an infield single and scored when Kody Kaiser doubled to right and Jordan Dodson's throw eluded Brian Friday at second. Bobby Bell got ahead of the next two hitters but yielded a hit batter and RBI single by Jackson Williams to cut the lead to two runs. After a successful sacrifice bunt by Joseph Hughes, Aaron Reza scored on a wild pitch that marked the end of Bell's outing.

Bobby Bramhall (4-1, 2.31) comes in to pitch for the Owls with a runner on third and one out. Rice still leads, but the Sooners have cut the deficit to 5-4 in the bottom of the fourth.
