Lincoln: Oh So Close

By Doug Kroll - June 02, 2006

Nebraska rightifielder Andrew Brown just hit a triple into the nook and crany out in left center field, listed as 403 feet from home plate. If it was 401 feet from home plate, we have a tie ballgame here in Lincoln. With two shots to get Brown in to tie the game, the Huskers grounded out and struck out to end the threat. Chris Cody now has five strikeouts, and continues to work around some baserunners, as Nebraska has left six men on base now. Joba Chamberlain for Nebraska has been solid since giving up back to back shots back in the 2nd inning. He has a four hitter going and now has racked up six strikeouts. We have quite the pitchers duel going on here in Nebraska.
I find it really fun when Manhattan does something, there is a pocket of Jaspers fans just to the right of their dugout, and it's easy to spot because they're the only ones not wearing red or white!
