NCAA: From Times Square to Fullerton

By Eric Sorenson - June 04, 2006

My day at CSTV is long done now. So I took people's advice and did a quick stroll around Times Square (my hotel is right around the corner). It reminded me a lot of New Orleans and Las Vegas mixed together with a lot taller buildings - also, keep your wallet in your front pocket.

A couple of friends of mine and the good lady wife are currently at the Fresno State-Cal State Fullerton game, sending me up-to-the-minute text message updates. Currently, the Titans got two-run bombs from Blake Davis and Danny Dorn and now lead 7-3 (although Gametracker still shows the score to be 2-2).

I'm still on west coast time, so even though it's 1:20am here in NYC, I still feel like I'm wide awake. In fact, I finally... finally, got my hands on a cold brew. The last two nights I've gotten back to the hotel so late it was straight to bed. But tonight, I've got an oil can of Foster's which is a great way to top off a great day of college baseball.

To all of you who have written in and commented on today's coverage from Adam and myself, thank you. And yes, we like to keep it fun and loose. It's college baseball for chrissakes! Not ABC World News Tonight.
