Oxford: Big inning for Miami

By Chris Kieffer - June 12, 2006

The atmosphere is subdued in Oxford after Miami scored five runs in the seventh inning.
Tommy Giles singled up the middle with two outs to put the Hurricanes on top 9-8 and after Jon JAy was hit by a pitch for the second time in the game to load the bases, Miami's Danny Valencia hit a grand slam.
Jay has reached base five times and scored four and and Valencia has seven home runs.
Miami players jumped up and down at home plate and an Ole Miss player ran out of the dugout with words before he was stopped by coaches.
As OM players ran off the field and then came to the plate, the crowd cheered, but it was subdued.
