Oxford: Canes surge again

By Chris Kieffer - June 12, 2006

Once again Miami has scored first.
The Hurricanes got three runs in the first inning after Jemile Weeks was hit by pitch to lead off the bottom of the frame (Ole Miss is the visiting team in the game). Weeks stole second and scored on a Jon Jay single. Miami third baseman Danny Valencia then hit Miami's seventh home run of the super regional to put the Hurricanes on top 3-0. Miami players came out the dugout, jumping up and down to greet Valencia.
Top 2nd, Miami leads 3-0.
